Insults lurking at every corner,

Taught to turn against each other.

Society’s survival of the fittest

Because together they are feared further.

Creators of the present and future as you know it.

 

Learned to compete and then crawl,

Women tending to their own injuries.

I will teach you to appreciate she who was:

The muse to the canvas forever.

 

There’s an aesthetic reality in the flawed

Perfectly imperfect they are.


Adi Solis is from Nicaragua, her first language is Spanish but she loves writing poems in both Spanish and English. She has always been fascinated by literature and especially loves writing about uncomfortable topics that aren’t given enough attention. Half of her family is known for their writing and literature is her passion. Adi is currently a junior studying Agricultural  Business. She reads fiction in her spare time.
