Sierra Auman

Sierra Auman is a third-year English major with a Creative Writing Concentration, who aspires to be a manuscript editor and a published author someday. She is serving as KLIO 2025’s Editor-in-Chief. As someone who is constantly listening and looking for creative inspiration, Sierra is involved not only with KLIO, but also Kalliope and Folio. She is also an active member in Penn State’s Creative Writing Club, serving as their vice president this year, and is both a member and the librarian for Penn State’s Oriana Singers. She served as part of the fiction committee for Folio 2023 and Folio 2024, and as a copyeditor for Folio 2023. She has published pieces in KLIO 2023 (“Keep Holding On”, “Smoke and Fire”), KLIO 2024 (“Bears”, “Dromonium”), and Folio 2023 (“Project Keilo-Space”). Sierra is extremely passionate about being a creative writer, and cherishes every piece of work saved in her Google Drive.

Evgenia Kopanos

Evgenia Kopanos, the managing editor of Klio, is a Print and Digital Journalism major hailing from Queens, New York. Evgenia can always be seen either writing, reading, or editing a story for one of her million after-school activities. The New Yorker has hopes of working for a publishing company upon her graduation.

Chayil Dozier

Chayil Dozier is a second-year broadcast journalism and English double major. She is the webmaster for Klio. She is passionate about communication and connecting cultures. She loves learning about new things and traveling internationally. She is from the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and writing fiction. Her favorite things to are read webtoons and fanfiction on Ao3.

She wants to be an International reporter and researcher.  Her goal in life is to inspire others to embrace and explore diverse cultures. Throughout her career, she strives to reduce cultural ignorance and misunderstandings to promote a more respectful and connected community.

LJ Thompson

LJ Thompson is one of the fiction co-coordinators for this year’s edition of KLIO. She’s a third-year English major, minoring in Linguistics. She is an avid fan of space opera novels, and her favorite authors are Becky Chambers, Andy Weir, and Colson Whitehead. Outside of class, you can find her steadily working towards her Goodreads Reading Challenge goal, watching Dallas Stars hockey or Formula 1, or listening to NADDPod. She’s excited to be working with KLIO this year, and can’t wait to see what Penn State writers have to offer!

Mkenna Grace Gerard

Mkenna Grace Gerard is a sophomore at Penn State University, pursuing a major in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in English. She is also on track to complete the Smeal Business Fundamentals Certification, giving her a well-rounded foundation in both the creative and business aspects of her future career. With a deep love for all things creative and design, Mkenna has always been captivated by the intersection of visual aesthetics and impactful messaging. Her passion extends beyond the realm of art and communication; she is a strong advocate for size inclusivity in the fashion industry. Her ultimate goal is to launch her own size-inclusive company, creating a space where fashion, creativity, and empowerment collide to foster a more inclusive and diverse world. Within KILO, Mkenna holds the position of social media chair, getting the opportunity to create graphics, and run all the social accounts such as Instagram, and TikTok.

Sage Hoppe

Sage Hoppe is very excited to serve as one of two Poetry Coordinators for 2025’s edition of KLIO! She is a sophomore majoring in English and minoring in Spanish and hopes to become an editor after college. In the fall semester, she spends most of her time playing trumpet in the PSU Blue Band. In her free time, she loves to listen to music, hike and spend lots of time outdoors, write poetry, and travel to new hiking and concert spots. She loves to experience new things and will never turn down an adventure. KLIO is the first publication Sage will be involved in, but she is looking forward to becoming more involved with the writing community!

Jacklyn Pekala

Jacklyn Pekala is a third-year English major currently in her third year at The Pennsylvania State University. Her writing career has taken her from tabletop gaming forums to editorial work and currently, the film coordinator position for PSU’s KLIO literary magazine. While usually permanently occupied between her own writing projects and special interests, she makes time to put cryptic text amid her author biography.

Maggie Alderisio

Maggie Alderisio is a first-year student double majoring in Journalism and English from Delmar, New York. An avid fan of creative writing, she is the Creative Non-Fiction Coordinator for Klio’s ninth edition and is so excited to be a part of the team. Outside of KLIO, Maggie is also a writer for Onward State, Her Campus @ PSU, and is a member of Phi Sigma Sigma. She hopes to one day be a writer/reporter and live in New York City. In her free time, she enjoys writing (of course), traveling, skiing, going to PSU sporting events and concerts, and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs.

Bryce Rioux

Bryce Rioux is a first-year English major with a concentration in Professional and Media Writing from Naperville, Illinois. With an appreciation for all kinds of literature, Bryce is thrilled to be serving as one of KLIO’s poetry coordinators for the 2025 issue. Bryce is also involved with Her Campus at Penn State as a writer, Editorial2010, and Tri Sigma. She hopes to continue to enhance her editorial skills both in and out of KLIO and eventually end up in the publishing industry. Outside of academics, Bryce enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading for pleasure.

Isabelle Ems

Isabelle Ems is a third-year Political Science major with an English Minor in the Schreyer Honors College. She is serving as the University Park Initiatives & Outreach Coordinator for the Spring 2025 edition of the KLIO publication. Passionate about political journalism, student engagement, and advocacy, Isabelle hopes to gain valuable knowledge about about how to communicate policies and progress to a wider audience through this experience. Along with her studies, Isabelle is President of the Liberal Arts Undergraduate Council, Executive Director of the State of State, a member of Lion Ambassadors, an outreach committee member in Lion Caucus, and a Paterno Fellow. This upcoming summer, she will be a government affairs intern for Hilton in Washington, D.C.!

Sam Bye

Sam Bye is a fourth-year student majoring in English. She aspires to be an editor at a publishing company and is excited to work as the Music Editor, as well as a part of the fiction and nonfiction committees, at KLIO this semester. In her spare time she enjoys reading fantasy and romance books, crocheting anything and everything, and binging shows with her roommates. She gets nostalgic when she hears the sound of violins playing, smells chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven, or sees a Magic Treehouse book in the bookstore.

Allison Curley

Allison Curley is second-year digital/print journalism major with women’s studies and English minors. She serves as the Head Visual Art Coordinator for KLIO’s digital literary magazine and has a passion for writing and all things entertainment. Additionally, she is involved in Her Campus at Penn State, CommRadio, and Penn State Network Television. When she’s not studying or leaving Letterboxd reviews, she likes to go thrifting and bake sweet treats. Allison’s biggest ambition is to pursue a career in journalism while working for a dignified magazine.

Chasalee Romero

Chasalee Romero is a sophomore English major with a concentration in Professional and Media Writing. She enjoys all sorts of literature and art and is excited to serve as KLIO’s Blog Editor for the 2025 Spring issue. She’s also involved around campus, as a Web Writer for Editorial2010, and a General Body Member of the Dominican Association club. She also hopes to pursue a career in magazine publishing. You could occasionally find her nestled in her bed, with a book in hand, or rewatching Game Of Thrones for the third time in a month.

Kyleigh O’Connell

Kyleigh O’Connell is a second-year college student who is majoring in English and Journalism. She is one of the Blog Editors for KLIO, which will be the first publication she is involved with at Penn State. She says that her biggest ambition is to study abroad in Ireland and dreams of working in the book publishing industry after she graduates. As someone who is interested in creative writing, reading, and journalism, she is excited to be a part of KLIO. She is looking forward to learning more about the editing and publishing process that goes along with creating a digital literary magazine. 

Ava Ferriero

Ava is a Freshman Broadcast Journalism major at Penn State. In her free time, she is a writer for Her Campus @PSU. She is the Social Media Chair for the 2025 version of KLIO. You can often catch Ava drinking espresso, trying to become an influencer, or looking at pictures of her mini golden-doodle, Archie. Her biggest ambition is to be a broadcaster for NBC or write for the New York Times.

Jaden Schillaci

Jaden Schillaci is a third-year Penn State student who is majoring in Secondary Education (English) while minoring in Creative Writing. He is one of the two fiction coordinators for KLIO 2025. Jaden has a deep passion for sports and is an avid Buffalo Bills and Utah Jazz fan. His biggest ambitions in life are to travel the world, and make an impact on others’ lives around him, whether that is in the classroom or outside of it.

Lea Starr

Lea Starr is a fourth-year English major aspiring to work at Penguin Random House as a publicist after she graduates. She has a strong passion for reading and can always be found with a book in her possession. Her favorite genre to read is litfic, contemporary, and romance with some of her all time favorite authors being Krista and Becca Ritchie, Emily Henry, Haley Cass, and Sally Rooney. When she’s (rarely) not reading, she’s rewatching Stranger Things or New Girl, baking new recipes, or writing small poems. Aside from KLIO, she’s involved with the Penn State club, HerCampus @ PSU as a writer and holds a position on the Executive Board as the Events Director. Lea is excited to contribute to the success of KLIO this spring semester as she upholds the position of PR/Marketing Manager.
