Our third artist features Kristen Nodell, a Penn State senior who holds the titles of both filmmaker and musician. Artist Statement videos are a new series on our Youtube channel for Penn State’s creative arts magazines Klio & Kalliope, and they lend our community of artists and writers a platform to showcase themselves and their work.

Nodell talks about the growth of her love of music, showcasing her personality with jokes and charisma. She has been featured on Klio’s blog in the past for her music and her range of talents which include the ability to play many instruments besides her singing and filmmaking.

Recently, Kristen also performed for the Daily Collegian’s “Tunes from the Newsroom,” a similar small concert series like NPR’s well-known “Tiny Desk Concerts.”

The Artist Statement video was directed and edited by Kristen Nodell, and it was produced by Morgan Seiff, our film editor and Kalliope and Klio liaison.
