Prophesy
what is this “cruel fate”
but a dice rolled by my own palm?
i am oedipus and the oracle
colliding. I foretold this –
swallowing time and sinking heart –
then tripped inside anyways.
am I to blame?
I am asked if I believe in free will,
and my head nods,
compelled by the threads wrapped
around my own fingers.
I must make peace with this knotted string.
