Introducing Our 2024 Editorial Staff

Alexis Berthold Alexis Berthold is a third-year college student who is majoring in English. She is an avid book reader, and her favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction. KLIO will be the first publication she is involved with on campus, and she is so excited and honored to serve as the Editor-in-Chief this semester. Alexis enjoys crocheting, and her current ambition is to one day open an Etsy shop where she sells her creations.
Sophia Wagner Sofia Wagner is a first-year English major with a minor in Communication Arts and Mass Media. She has a passion for reading off-the-wall literature and has a newfound interest in the occult. She is never without a novel in her possession, usually written by either one of her two favorite authors, Ottessa Moshfegh or Stephen King. A bad habit she is trying to break is reading more than one book at a time. She is currently reading 7 books, one of which she started 4 years ago (Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë). Not only does she have a passion for reading but writing as well, mostly short stories that fall under the flash fiction category. She has had the opportunity to be Distribution Chair for Kalliope this academic school year and explores campus as she restocks the most recent publications. Sofia is excited to contribute to the success of KLIO this spring semester as she upholds the position of Managing Editor.
Jared Loeper
Jared Loeper is a fourth-year English major. He is the Webmaster for the 2024 edition of KLIO. He runs with Club Cross Country at Penn State and performs stand-up comedy with the Second Floor Comedy Club at Penn State. His ambition is to be a stand-up comic.
Sierra Auman Sierra Auman is a second-year English major, who aspires to be an editor someday. She is serving as one of two Fiction Coordinators for KLIO 2024. As someone who is constantly listening and looking for creative inspiration, Sierra is involved with not only KLIO but also Kalliope and Folio. She is also an active member of Penn State’s Book Club, Creative Writing Club, and Oriana Singers. She served as part of the fiction committee for Folio 2023 and as a copyeditor for Folio 2023. She has published pieces in KLIO 2023 (“Keep Holding On”, “Smoke and Fire”) and in Folio 2023 (“Project Keilo-Space”). Sierra is currently working on a manuscript to be a published author in the future. Her biggest ambition is that she wants to be a published author someday
Kirti Arora Kirti Arora is one of the Fiction Coordinators and a member of the poetry and visual arts committee for KLIO 2024. She is a first-year majoring in English with a minor in Fine Arts and an intern for the Print Factory in Bellefonte. Her biggest ambition is to use her art as a tool to create striking works that challenge societal norms, raise awareness, and inspire action on pressing social issues.
Lauren Loeper Lauren Loeper is a first-year student who is planning on majoring in English. She is the poetry coordinator for KLIO and is a member of the film and interactive media committee. Outside of KLIO, she is a member of Penn State’s competitive club gymnastics team. Lauren’s biggest ambition in life is to create a safe space for people to take a break from their day, hopefully in the form of a bookstore cafe, preferably at the beach.
Ashleigh Earyes Ashleigh Earyes, but feel free to call her Ash, is currently part of the KLIO digital magazine as a visual arts leader and part of the fiction & nonfiction committee. She’s been published five times and plans on publishing to more literary journals and magazines. Aside from being published, she’s taken courses in editing and business writing as well as professional writing. She loves to read literary journals and magazines, such as SmokeLong Quarterly and Split/Lip Press. Her favorite genres to read are psychological thrillers and horror stories.
Allie Wallace Allie Wallace is a third-year Film Production student and collector of hobbies. She is a peer writing tutor for Penn State Learning and Historian and DEI Chair for the professional film society, Delta Kappa Alpha. Writers Virginia Woolf and Joan Didion and filmmakers Mike Mills and Richard Linklater inspired her to pursue screenwriting. She’s looking forward to contributing to KLIO as co-head of the Film and Interactive Media Committee and as a member of the Poetry and Fiction Committees. She’s excited to see what we’ll make together.
Reagan Johnson
Hello everyone, I’m Reagan! Currently the music coordinator for our literary magazine coming soon to you. I have a deep appreciation for language and the profound impact of storytelling. Exploring the various classic works, various of genres and cultures. I have great experience in music promotion, offering not just entertainment, but enlightenment to human imagination. I am thrilled to be participating in this year’s publication of “Klio” as a way to spread excitement and inspiration. Erica Brown Erica Brown (she/her/hers) is one of the blog editors for this year’s edition of the KLIO. She is a fourth-year student studying English and advertising/public relations. Erica is a publishing assistant with Penn State Libraries’ Open Publishing Program.  She is also a writing/news intern for the College of Agricultural Sciences and the marketing/PR director for the Penn State a cappella group, Blue in the FACE. She has held past internships at Penn State’s Center for the Performing Arts as an education and community engagement intern, where she published her first feature story on Penn State Newswire, and as a social media intern for the Digital English Studio. When she is not working or doing schoolwork, Erica can be found curling up on her couch reading the latest romance or young adult fantasy novels, singing with her friends in Blue in the FACE, or managing her bookstagram account. She has always loved the world of editing and literature and tries to incorporate it into her work in classes, internships, or jobs. Her biggest ambition is to work in book publishing one day in New York City.
Molly Lucas Molly is a third-year politics student, currently in her study abroad year from the UK. This is Molly’s first time working on a literary magazine, and as Co-Blog Editor and a member of both the fiction and music committee, Molly is excited to gain a broad experience in a variety of different roles. Molly is a big foodie and a proud feminist. She says her biggest ambitions are to travel to Southeast Asia and to learn to speak French! 
Barb Fahey Barb Fahey is a Public Relations major seeking a minor in rhetoric. She is the Social Media Manager for the 2024 edition of KLIO. She was previously a columnist for her high school’s newspaper. She has both professional and personal experience with online promotion across multiple social media platforms. She aspires to work in PR and have a family one day. She is the main voice behind Kilo’s social media pages this year. She is excited to be promoting Klio and the efforts behind the scenes.
Sophia Trembler Sophia Trembler is a first-year student at Penn State and is majoring in Advertising/Public Relations with a minor in Creative Writing. She is very excited to be the Public Relations Chair this year for Klio. She helped to produce her high school’s literary magazine and is currently on the creative team for Penn State’s American Advertising Committee (AAF). She has been writing since middle school and is always excited to start a new project. She enjoys reading different genres, always interested in finding something new and creative. She also loves to sing and is involved with Concert Choir as well as Essence of Joy at Penn State’s School of Music. When she has some downtime, she enjoys thrifting, exploring new places to eat, long walks, going to the ocean, making memories with friends (whether that be over dinner or a board game) and spending time with her family when she is home. Sophia’s biggest ambition is to at some point have some sort of writing published but mostly to love my life. She looks forward to sharing Volume 8 of Klio with you and she hopes that you enjoy Volume 8!
Primrose Ranara Primrose Ranara is a fourth-year English major with a minor in Global and International Studies. She is the Non-Fiction Editor for the 2024 edition of KLIO. She loves to read and be surrounded by books which is why works at the Pattee and Paterno Library. She was part of the Penn State Abington Literary Review, fiction committee. Primrose also breathes to travel. She studied abroad in London Spring of 2023. She hopes to work in the publishing industry with her editing skills. Primrose also would love to live in different places in the world at different points in her life.
William Zhou As a dedicated sophomore at Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Political Science, William Zhou stands at the forefront of student-led initiatives, embodying the spirit of engagement and advocacy. Their role as the Outreach and Public Relations Representative for Kilo Digital Magazine showcases a profound commitment to amplifying student voices and fostering a dynamic campus culture. Through strategic communications and innovative public relations strategies, William Zhou is not only elevating Kilo Digital Magazine’s presence within and beyond the Penn State community but also paving the way for meaningful dialogues around pivotal issues. Their academic pursuits in Political Science complement their role perfectly, providing a rich understanding of political dynamics and public discourse, which is instrumental in their efforts to connect, inform, and inspire. At Penn State, William Zhou is not just a student; they are a visionary leader, setting new standards for student engagement and media excellence.
